I grew up in East Lansing (Go Spartans!), surrounded by a very large family and close family friends. I’m the second child in a lineup of seven. I have three brothers and three sisters, five nephews and two nieces. Growing up, our family was often sharing quality time together cooking and baking; creating solid traditions, making lasting memories and of course enjoying the feasts of our labors!
This was something both my Mom and Dad loved and felt was important; sharing their talents in the kitchen, creating wonderful ethnic dishes and entertaining family and friends…good food went hand in hand with good times!
I first saw Gigi’s Cupcakes on Undercover Boss…the store design, the cupcakes, the packaging were all beautiful, and I was immediately drawn to the idea of opening my own store. I was sure it was “a sign” that Gigi’s had come into my world and I have come to realize that part of life is taking leaps, even those that are far beyond your normal comfort zone, and if God’s blessing is on it, you can’t lose!
My nephews and nieces all call me Gigi, a name that became mine once again nine years ago when my godchild Jacob first began talking; many years ago my Grandma would call me “Gigi”, in her cute Italian accent…..who knew both of them would be the start of something so special!
Opening Gigi’s Cupcakes has been the experience of a lifetime! I am so grateful for the people that Gigi’s has been brought into my life, both as employees and customers; I can’t imagine my life without them and I look forward to being a premier cupcake shop in the Lansing area for years to come!
Thank you for your business and continued support!
