First and foremost, we are locally and family-owned.
So, how'd we get started? As a single, Stapleton mom of two
wonderful little kiddos named Lia and James, I set out to start a business that would simply make people happy. What better business to be in than cupcakes?
I’m a freelance food
& business writer and actually met Gigi when I interviewed her for
an article I was writing for Entrepreneur magazine about cupcakes.
The timing couldn’t have been better, and as a true believer that
everything happens for a reason, I took a leap of faith and asked Gigi
if I could open a store here in Denver. As it happens, my long-time
childhood friend, and close family friend, Ingrid was visiting me that
weekend from New York. When I told Ing, as I love to call her, that
I was opening a cupcake shop, she took one bite of the strawberry shortcake
cupcake and literally yelled, “I am too!” It didn’t take much
convincing to get my mom on board the Gigi train, and the three of us
were on our way.
